Will I hurt the person I am suing by bringing a personal injury claim?

Answer: A personal injury claim will in no way hurt the person that caused your injury. The only way they would be hurt is if you litigated your claim for compensation beyond their limits of liability insurance coverage.

Short of that, the only “harm” to the at-fault party might be an increased in their auto insurance rates and the time they have to make themselves available for any hearing related procedures.

Personal injury law can be very complex. There are many pieces that take an experienced attorney to handle and protect your rights. Filing a claim isn't meant to hurt anyone, it's to restore someone who has been injured due to another's negligence and get the justice they truly deserve. The goal is to get the injured back to as normal as possible, plain and simple.
